Routes
There are seven cliffs at Snake Den State Park
which range from 15 to 35 feet in height. The rock is granite with loose rock
on some of the cliffs. The routes range from 5.2 to 5.12+ with the majority
of established routes being in the double digit range. Some of the hardest
established routes in RI are at Snake Den.
Protection
Trees are easily accessible from the top of most of the cliffs to set up
top-ropes. Due to the height of the cliffs practicing leading is not
really practical.

Johnston, Rhode Island was written by Ed Sewall and published in 1991.

There is also an article which lists and describes Snake Den routes that was
published in the 1989 June/July issue of Climbing (No 114, pp 26-27).
