AMC Narragansett Chapter
Climbing Trip Information
The trip leader will determine how many climbers, i.e. seconds, can participate based on the number of climb leaders who are going on the trip. Also, the leader will determine if the individual climber is capable of climbing at the level required for the particular area. That year’s climbing class participants always get priority on the June Gunks trip. Narragansett Chapter members get priority over other Chapter members. AMC members get priority over non-AMC members. Registration will close after one week or until we have no more than a 1-2 leader/seconds ratio registered. I will notify you if you made the cut. Anyone who signs-up beyond the cut-off will be put on a wait list and I will notify you within two days of the trip if we get any more leaders or any seconds drop out. If anyone can not make it please contact me immediately and not the day of the trip unless it is a dire emergency. Anyone who doesn’t make the cut and wants to come to top-rope, hike, etc. is welcome.
All ice and rock climbing trip participants are required to
have a helmet, belay/rappel device (capable of double rope use), 3 locking
carabineers, 2 prusik slings, 2 slings 2 foot long, 1 sling 4 foot long, a
cleaning tool, harness, climbing shoes, headlight, extra clothing and rain
gear, food, water and a pack.
All trip participants will be required to sign this Acknowledgement of Risks, Assumption of Risks, and
Release Agreement for AMC Volunteer-Led Activities. Please print it, read and sign it, and turn
it in to the trip leader.
